Countywide Household Battery Recycling Program
 [print]
The Fire Prevention Bureau of the San Rafael Fire Department is kicking-off a Countywide Household Battery Recycling Program in August. Along with San Rafael fire stations, the Corte Madera, Kentfield, Larkspur, Marin County, Marinwood, Mill Valley, Nicasio, Southern Marin, Tiburon, and Ross Valley Fire Departments are joining in this recycling effort to encourage residents to recycle home batteries instead of throwing them in their home garbage.

Each fire station will be outfitted with an official bright blue metal battery disposal can that will be placed in front of the fire station or other convenient locations in the city. Residents can drop off their used batteries any time of day or night. Inside the can is a five gallon bucket that will be emptied by the station personnel and taken down to the Marin Recycling Permanent Household Hazardous Waste facility.

In Marinwood you can battery disposal cans at the Marinwood fire station, 777 Miller Creek Road or at Bell Market, 155 Marinwood Avenue.

If you have any question or comments about the battery recycling program feel free to contact us through our online contact form.
