$400,000 in damage caused by huge San Rafael fire
 [print]
San Rafael - -- A two-alarm fire destroyed a mobile home and an S-U-V and caused major damage to a house in San Rafael.

Officials say yesterday's spectacular blaze did $400,000 in damage before it could be extinguished.

The blazing home at the top of a hill on Blossom Court could be seen from most of San Rafael.

Cause of the blaze is under investigation. No injuries were reported.

The call came at midday as firefighters were diving into a farewell lunch for firefighter Bob Dial and engineer Dennis Schunk (San Rafael Fire Department). Both are retiring today.

After the blaze -- everyone returned to the firehouse for a good-bye dinner.
