Foster City Fire Captain's Death

It is with great sorrow, that the Foster City Firefighter's Association announces that Foster City Fire Captain Dan Nightingale was fatally injured in a tragic vehicle accident on the morning of July 21, 2003. Dan's Wife Lauriann, Daughter Ashley (5) and Son Dan Jr. (2) survived the crash with minor injuries, and have been released from the hospital.
Dan was an incredible Father, respected Captain, and a friend to all who knew him. We ask that the Nightingale family be in your thoughts and prayers.


The Foster City Firefighter's Association has set up a fund for donations. All donations will go to the Nightingale Family. Donations can be sent to:

The Foster City Firefighter's Association would like to take this opportunity to thank all emergency personnel that were involved with this tragic incident. A special thanks to California Department of Forestry Station 89, Diamond Springs/El Dorado Fire Protection District, Cameron Park Fire Department, and California Highway Patrol. Capt. Dave Teter, J. Donnely, J Batalaro, Rescue Capt. John Wigel, Incident Commander Matt Silva, Chief Todd Cunningham and all others that responded to the Nightingales accident. These crews showed professionalism that far exceeded their call of duty, in helping a brother be put to rest.

You will never know how much we appreciate it, Thank You Brothers and Sisters.
