Fire teams sent north, east to battle blazes

Two strike teams of Marin firefighters were dispatched out of the area Wednesday as crews in the North Bay and East Bay battled blazes after the National Weather Service forecast a red flag warning because of winds creating dangerous conditions.
A wildland fire team from the Marin County Fire Department was sent across the bay this afternoon to help battle several small fires.

Meanwhile, a task force made up of firefighters from Larkspur, Mill Valley, Novato, San Rafael and Marinwood traveled north to help provide station coverage in Napa where crews battled two separate blazes.

Fires were growing in Yountville and north of Silverado Country Club late Wednesday and had consumed 60 acres.

Also Wednesday, Marinwood and Mill Valley firefighters battled a half an acre blaze near Amaranth and Sequoia Valley Road in the Homestead Valley area. It was contained at 7:15 p.m.
